How to prevent damage caused by valve leakage?
A valve leak can occur, but that doesn't mean it must cause problems for your project. There are three ways to prevent damage caused by valve leakage.
• Specify the amount of leakage tolerance of the project. The leakage tolerance varies from project to project. "Zero leakage" is not always necessary or desirable.
• Select the appropriate valve size. Oversize is one of the most common causes of valve leakage, especially for control valves. Fortunately, it is easiest to prevent leakage with the correct valve size.
• Perform regular valve testing and inspection. The best way to ensure that valve leakage will not damage the system and environment is to perform regular valve testing and inspection. Early detection will allow you to fix minor problems before they become major ones.
