The high pressure and superheated steam reduced the steam pressure to a set-point after flow move to PRV by regulating the steam pressure. and then injects a controlled amount of cooling water into a superheated steam flow in an effort to reduce or control steam temperature, in order to achieve the requirements of steam conditioning technology.

The first step is decompress the high pressure steam thru pressure reducing valve (PRV), and then the amount of cooling water spray into steam flow to cooling down the entire main steam in order to reducing the steam temperature to a set-point.
It is advantageous to separate the pressure reducing valve(PRV) portion from the desuperheating portion. for smaller pipe or lower pressure application or installations that require horizontal orientation. DC400-03 can be the most economical choice for low to medium pressure applications.
